Installing OpenSUSE 11.3 KDE from the DVD

Download DVD ISO

If you're not sure what version you need, download the 32 bit version as it will work on 64 or 32 bit systems.

download OpenSUSE 11.3 x86_64 version

download OpenSUSE 11.3 32 bit version

Press F3 to Select the Video Mode

Next, highlight Installation and hit the enter key, that should cause the Loading Linux Kernel to pop up.

Select the Language, Keyboard Layout and Agree to the License

After you hit the Next button OpenSUSE will probe your system to see what hardware you're using.

Select New Installation or Update

If OpenSUSE detects an old version you will have an option to upgrade it. Select what you want to do and hit next.

Suggested Partitioning

I would recommend partition based as it's simpler.

Create New User

If the password you enter is weak you will get a warning. If the machine you're setting up is critical you may want to use a more secure password.

Installation Settings OpenSUSE 11.3 Install DVD

Review your installation settings and click on the Install button.
